๐ Who I Am
Hi, I’m Laura, also known online as GlitchyButCute. I’m a disabled and neurodivergent content creator, accessibility advocate, and cosy gamer based in the UK.
In early 2024, I had a stroke that changed pretty much everything. I now live with right-sided weakness, seizures, cognitive glitches, speech difficulties, and chronic fatigue. I use a powerchair (and sometimes a rollator), rely heavily on assistive tech, and I’m audhd (autistic + ADHD), queer, and a devoted fan of pink sparkly chaos.
Hence the name.
I believe a glitch isn’t the same as being broken. It’s just a different way of running.
๐ฌ What I Talk About
GlitchyButCute is where the messy, joyful, and very real sides of disabled life live. I create blogs, vlogs, and social content covering:
- Life after stroke: recovery, seizures, mobility, and identity
- Benefits, work, and care systems: breaking down PIP, LCWRA, and staying employed with access needs
- Smart home tech for spoonies: using automation to stay independent and safe
- Cosy games, nostalgia, and joy: accessible gaming, Funko Pops, 90s cartoons, and general delight
- Disability and neurodivergence advocacy: speaking up, pushing for inclusion, and making space for others to do the same
Everything I make is rooted in lived experience, honesty, and a healthy dose of glitter.
๐งท Advocacy & Inclusion Work
Before being made redundant, I chaired my workplace’s neurodiversity employee network and played a key role in the disability network too. That hands-on advocacy work, combined with my own lived experience, informs everything I do around accessibility, inclusive design, and better support for disabled and neurodivergent people.
I offer:
- Talks and panels: disability, stroke recovery, neurodivergence, and accessible tech
- Workshops and consulting: helping brands and orgs improve accessibility and inclusion practices
- Lived experience insight: for product design, service feedback, campaigns, and more
If your work could benefit from an accessibility-first lens, I’d love to hear from you.
๐ค Want to Work With Me?
I’m open to brand partnerships, reviews, speaking opportunities, and collaborations that actually align with accessibility, authenticity, and soft chaos. If you’re a company that wants to do better (or just do something cute and inclusive), let’s chat.
